You Can Dream Again

A dreamless life is a dull one. But to be captured by the heart of God drives purpose, brings joy, and illuminates the lives of those around us.

You don’t have to wake up to another morning feeling drained and unmotivated; work hours don’t have to be tedious, and free time doesn’t have to feel passive. Because love can change all of these.

It’s never easy to be compassionate, alright. We’re selfish beings. Yet God’s love is so transformative that every time we encounter Him we feel that urge to align our hearts with His. “You’re so good to me, God! How can I be pleasing to You?” And we go on searching for ways to do so in His Word.

The Call of Love

The need in this world is great. Hunger. Poverty. Homelessness. Countless orphans without families and a million other broken stories. After this life we’ll face eternity in either heaven or hell, and our hope is grounded in this — that our faith in Jesus will save us and is the key to experiencing life in all its abundance both now and forever.

But why would the people we’re trying to help believe in what we know until they know how much genuinely care about them? And how can that gap remain unfilled if we’ve truly experienced the saving love of Jesus? What else are we waiting for?

That is the burden that gives birth to God-given passions and callings. It fills us with deep love for others that moves us to find solutions to their struggles. It becomes a restless pursuit that does not burn out because it’s finally fueled by something that’s greater than ourselves. Our lives can the be the reason why others would believe in the goodness of God.

A dreamless life is a dull one. But to be captured by the heart of God drives purpose, brings joy, and will illuminate the lives of those around us.

Start Small

You do not have to be gifted, skilled, or highly influential to be able to make a difference. All it takes is your willingness to obey God. He will test you in small things, small tasks, and small choices; would you give Him your best? And would you do it immediately, consistently, and increasingly?

That is how JFM Foundation became what it is today. The direction we’ve travelled, the provision we’ve gained, and the people we’ve impacted for 12 long years — these are the fruits of choosing God’s will over our own, knowing that He holds all things, knows all things, and can do all things.

For as long as you’re moving in the direction that pleases God, you can be sure that His approval and supply will go before you. It often will feel daunting and hard, unreasonable even. But one the other side of your obedience will always be the display of His power.

Ask God to reveal to you what He wants you to do. And when He does, no matter how small, obey and follow through. You’ll be surprised at the harvest that’s waiting for you to reap.
